In his latest book, The Social Organization (2017), Jon demonstrates how we need to change our people and management practices to become more social and the value of doing so. Jon's first book Strategic Human Capital Management: Creating Value Through People (2006) demonstrates how HCM is much more than just a 'decision science' focused on measurement and benchmarking. HCM is an evolving approach to creating value in an organization based upon the capability of its people. Jon previously worked as Director of Human Capital Consulting, Europe for Buck Consultants / ACS (Xerox); Head of HR Consulting for Penna and HR Director for Ernst & Young (working firstly in the UK, and then, based in Moscow covering the former USSR). Before that he worked for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) as an IT then change management consultant and for BOC Gases as a chemical engineer. Jon is a Member of the BPS, a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, a Fellow of the RSA and a Certified Management Consultant. Jon has a BA in Psychology, a Masters in Engineering and an MBA.
